What goes into the Girls Youth Lacrosse registration fees?

February 3, 2026 |

As part of our commitment to transparency, we wanted to share a clear look at what goes into our Spring registration fees. Before joining the board, many of us had no idea how these costs were allocated, and with just one week left before registration closes, we felt this was important to share.

Below is a breakdown of our expenses and how registration fees are used to support our program. And the bottom of this email shows our original registration email in case you still need to sign up.

Indoor & Outdoor Turf Time (43%)
Securing practice space, especially indoors, is one of our largest expenses. Indoor turf rates range from $150–$175/hour at TSE to $375/hour at The Athletic Campus. We are mindful of costs when booking space (Pinnacle charges $975/hr for their full field!) and have been fortunate to build a strong relationship with High Acres for outdoor practices, where costs are shared with the boys organization. And our 5/6 girls will again be able to use school fields for their practices.

Tournament Fees (26%)
Tournament entry fees typically range from $350–$400 per team. Our budget assumes two teams per age group competing in both Cinco de Laxo and the Fairport Classic. The Classic is now run by Upstate Sports, with Fairport remaining the host town and neither FGYL or FBYL are involved in The Classic.

TeamSnap (5%)
This cost is shared with the boys organization. After the Spring season, we plan to explore alternative platforms to ensure we’re using the most cost-effective and user-friendly option. If you have recommendations, we’d love to hear them.

Insurance (9%)
Insurance is currently shared with the boys organization. We plan to review other options, including USA Lacrosse, after the Spring season.

Miscellaneous Costs (11%)
These include CPR certification and background checks for coaches, storage, website fees, our PO Box, and our Dollars for Scholars scholarship for a Fairport Varsity Girls Lacrosse senior. These fees are shared with the boys aside from the scholarship.

Referee Fees (6%)
FGYL covers referee costs for all home games, with rates varying by age level.

As our first year as a girls-only organization, we’re incredibly proud of the progress we’ve made. Looking ahead, we plan to begin fundraising and sponsorship efforts after this season and would welcome any parents interested in getting involved or sharing ideas.

Thank you for your continued patience, support, and trust as we build FGYL into a program that fosters confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love of lacrosse for every Fairport girl.
