Hi Spring 2024 Fairport Youth Lacrosse Families,

 

We are very excited about the upcoming season.  Please read this as there is important information and reminders.

 

First, our numbers are looking great.  We need your help.  FYL runs on volunteers and we are currently in need of more coaches at certain levels.

 

-Kindergarten Girls needs Head Coaches (currently there not any and we need at least two to run the season)

-3rd-4th Grade Boys is looking for more Assistant Coaches

*We will evaluate if outdoor fields are available for the last two weeks in April, so practices may/may not transition to outside for these weeks, instead of the indoor schedule.  

Uniforms:

We will be using the same uniforms this season but there will be the option for purchasing new one’s for returning players who need larger sizes, and of course our new players. Please order uniforms when you register and do not wait so that we will have them all in time for Picture Day which right now is scheduled for 4/13.  

We understand that the uniform store does not have a sizing chart for girls/women’s items. This has presented some issues, specifically with the skorts, which run small.  The girl’s jersey lengths are similar to the boy’s (which are on the sizing chart), but they are cut narrower.

The manufacturer was unable to get a sizing chart from the factory, so we made our own!

Attached is a chart with measurements for the skorts, as well as some photos to show how the sizes compare. (This is posted on our website).

 

Equipment:

All players will be responsible for supplying their own equipment. 

Boys include the following certified equipment: stick, mouth guard, helmet, shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves, and athletic cup.

Girls equipment includes: girls stick, mouth guard, and goggles or lacrosse approved girl’s helmet.

A few local options for equipment include: Lax Unlimited in Pittsford, Play it Again Sports, Dick’s Sporting Goods.  Play It Again Sports currently has a deal of 15% off any 3 or more items of $19.99+
