Fairport Lacrosse Families –
Those of you who have been in the program for a few years may recall some fundraisers that were aimed at raising money to build an outdoor boarded lacrosse rink – more commonly referred to as a ‘box’.
We are pleased to announce that this week we took delivery on our community’s very own lacrosse box!
The Box will be set up and ready for use during our Spring season, which starts in just a few months. In addition to our youth program, it will be available to Fairport’s Modified, JV, and Varsity Boy’s and Girl’s teams.
The boards were purchased from Sport Resource Group (SRG) in Minnesota. SRG provides similar systems to high school, college, and professional teams throughout the country. Locally, their boards are used by Tri-County Sports Complex, Canandaigua Lacrosse, and Penn Yan Lacrosse, among others.
The benefits of box lacrosse, and training in smaller spaces has been highlighted by coaches for years. We’re excited to be able to offer these opportunities to our program, and can’t wait to get out and start playing!
A big thanks to all of you who have helped by participating in past fundraisers, and to those who played a role in the planning and procurement.
